The University of Sindh and the University of Karachi have organized International Sindhi Conference in February 2006.

It will cover literary discussions on the Sindhi language, literature, cultural heritage, anthropology and socio-economic problems etc.This would be a unique conference arranged by two important Universities of Sindh.

The writers, intellectuals and experts have agreed and promised to extend full support for the event. Scholars from all parts of the country as well as from abroad will be invited to present papers on a number of subjects.

In this connection a meeting was held at the Karachi University campus presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University Dr. Pirzada Qasim who is also the chairman of the organsing committee.

The meeting was also attended by the co-chairman Mr. Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui, Vice-chancellor,University of Sindh and Vice-Chairman Shoukat Hussain Shoro was is also Director of Institute of Sindhology.

Professor Salim Memon, organizing secretary, professors Dr. Shamsuddin, Dr. N.A. Baloch, Dr. Farman Fatehpuri, Dr. Ghulam Ali Allana, Abdul Hameed Sindhi ,Agha Saleem,Dr.Farman Fatehpur,Mazhar Jamil, Ghulam Nabi Mughal, Ms. Mehtab Akbar Rashdi were also present on the occasion.

A committee has been formed under Vice-Chancellor,University of Sindh, Mr.Mazharu-ul-Haq Siddiqui to prepare a detailed programme of the conference.
